Home has been such a refreshing break from the long days and headaches of gainesville. Recovering from surgery has been my main priority since I had the op 2 months ago. I think coming home has been mentally beneficial in so many ways. As the years go on you really are reminded of what matters in life, who you let in and who you keep at arms length and what you want in the future. Of course in Florida I have the sun, the beach, the facilities and some great friends but returning home for a couple of weeks and having such a great time is the greatest pleasure of all.
The first few days seemed a bit of a panic, I felt like I was a foreigner, no mobile, no adapter for my mac and no idea what any of my friends were doing.
I won't lie, after 4 and a half years I have been americanized (i have a yank twang that I usually try to drop within the first week of getting back) so it is always a little shock until I get back into the swing of things.
I've had a fantastic time, seen family and friends and met some great people and have a lot of funny memories to last me a while. I escaped the riots and it was beautiful and sunny for half of my visit. I feel that every time I come back I can gather my thoughts and find myself again. I always leave with new dreams and more educated thoughts on the world. I forget all the worries I had before. It's true to say "there's no place like home" My friend's are so amazing, they're all so strong and beautiful and I am so lucky to have you in my life.
I travel to Australia in December im so excited!! The next time I will be back is for the London Olympics...
As Boris Johnson said... "the buses are ready, with their hop on, hop off" and I will be ready also.
