A glimpse at the fall 2011 trends

Hi sweets,
I know it's super f-ing hot in England right now, and the last thing anyone would want to do is think of the winter months but just wanted to touch on some fall trends.
Dark, neutral colours,  also block colour of deep orange and reds were prominent earlier this year on fall 11 runways.
 What most stood out to me were the different textures, chunky sweaters, capes are back again, leather and Fur.
70s fashion, pleats, fur clothing, wide leg pants and sheer clothing were seen.

TOPSHOP MAKEUP

Hi loves,

I felt that due to feeling like absolute crap because I am still recovering from surgery I would treat myself to some new makeup. I am having major England withdrawals also, so all around feel like I need a pickmeup. I managed to make it to the MAC store in Orlando the other day, coming out with just the one item. (The store was too small and crowded for my crutches so I only made it to the first makeup stand) I wanted a light powder for the summer, I hate wearing makeup in the summer, nothing worse than a "melt off the face" makeup look. I decided to try their mineral makeup power. Its great, light and looks fresh and my skin can still breathe.
My mum asked me to send her a few things from Sephora, so we decided to do an exchange, she's sending me a bunch of Topshop makeup and I'm sending her some Sephora goodies.
I'm loving topshop makeup right now. I have previously used their lip and cheek tint, illuminating stick and their nail polish. It's great, really good value and very up to date with the current colour pallet trends.

I decided to go for the Topshop blush&bronzer due, I have used a similar one from Benefit cosmetics, which is their 'Hoola' and 'Dandelion' combined, this one is a fraction of the price. I went for another nude gloss and saw a cute ring in the sale. The bottom is a pic of the MAC powder I purchased.

SUMMER SALES

In England there are major summer sales going on. Yesterday ASOS put a bunch of stuff on sale, takes a while to wade through it all but found some really cute items for next to nothing.
Stores everywhere are currently having sales, so a great time to purchase clothing for the holidays.
One purchase I found that I thought was cute is this cream shift dress.

diesel

Having a lazy day resting my foot, just thought i'de introduce you all to diesel. I adore dogs, and always have, he is one of my all-time favourites. :) ...I'm wearing an H&M sundress...diesel is wearing fur in auburn. excuse the no makeup.

Olay Pro-X

A few weeks ago I went into Sephora, one of my fave stores and was debating whether to spend $200 on the Clarisonic cleansing system. It is an electronic face cleaner, kind of like a toothbrush for your face. You charge up and use it daily to remove 6X more makeup and 2X more dirt than regular cleansing. I decided to go home, research and think about it before I purchased. I know some people may find this spending a little crazy, but it is 90% humidity in Florida right now and my skin is hating it. I would do anything for it to behave itself.
When researching I saw a lot of youtube videos reviewing it against an equivalent Olay product, as I read and researched further I found that the Olay Pro X cleansing system as they call it, is just as good, some times better in some reviews. AND IT COSTS $30!!!!!! I drove like a crazy woman to my nearest store which happened to be Walmart and it was under $30 and you get a free cleanser!!! Amazing deal. I have been using it for a few weeks now and the results are great, my pores are minimized and my skin is looking fresher than ever. I would recommend it to anyone.

Lace dress

I saw this beautiful lace dress and I wanted it but couldn't find it anywhere.

Gaylord Palms Dinner

I went to dinner tonight at Gay Lord Palms Hotel, It's lovely, the restaurant is set in a large conservatory with hotel rooms around the outside. I went to the Villa de Flora Restaurant, please excuse the crutches, I just recently had surgery on my ankle, not cute or fun and yes i look like a stencil.
 I am wearing a Topshop silk vest with front zip pocket, Primark cream shirt with big gold buttons (my best bargain of 2011 so far) peach shorts and a leather satchel.

Interior inspirations

I move into my new apartment in August, It's a cute 1 bed loft, I can't wait to decorate and making it into a cool space to relax and have friends over. I have found some lovely inspirations online. I love Nordic interior design, it is like a modern twist on pottery barn meets ikea. Heres an inspiration board I put together.

BRAIDING

Hello friends,
I'm getting a little carried away with my posts today, but just too much to share. I just wanted to blog how much I'm still obsessing over braids. Yes I'm loving the messy pony also, but with braids staying in style since last year, and the half braid just showing it's face I feel it is appropriate. I think the fish tail is still an all time fave and so easy to do.

TRUE WHIT

I just purchased Whitney Port's new book TRUE WHIT. I started reading it today and I already love it. It is an easy read and very relevant to my life. If you are still in university or have just graduated and don't know how to take the next step in style, then this is a MUST have. It has everything from her clothing line, to life on MTV, to hair, beauty, style, apartment styling, dating and survival in the real world.
I always loved whitney's style and watched her in MTV's 'the city' longing for her life, reading her book makes me realise how hard she worked for it and how stressful it can be having the pressures of a new job, a new city to live in, let alone the camera's rolling at all times. She's never come across to me as an attention whore and it seems that her family is the most important thing to her, which flys well by me.

Still loving Blazers and wishing FL wasn't so damn hot

In 2011 Blazers took a tone from dark to light, I am still enjoying the Blazers, whether it is to down dress an outfit in the daytime or to warm you up in the cooler evenings. My personal fave that I'm still trying to get my hands on is in the Whitney Eve collection. Whitney Port- who is one of my favourite celebs has her own fashion line and it's absolutely gorgeous.

MAXI skirt

The Maxi skirt and dress have been around for a while, they were perfect for spring and I still love them in the summer time. Great for a picnic, lunch with friends or sailing trip. Soft and comfortable to throw on over a bikini, they are casually elegant.

www.asos.com does a great version if you are feeling the sheer trend, Fall 2011 catwalks have more sheer in store for us. This one from Asos also comes in different colours if you are one to refuse to wear black in the summer.

I'm absolutely loving the colour BLUSH right now, the three celebs below showcase the maxi to its full potential and mix it up on the red carpet with all shades of neutral, peach and pink.
